The Global Academy of Management is the leading professional association of management and organization scholars. Our members around the world include professors and doctoral students at universities of business, academics in related social science and other disciplines, and practitioners who value the creation and application of knowledge. The Global Academy of Management is a global organisation based in London, UK.
The Global Academy of Management (GAM) is the leading professional association for the study, research and education of management. The Academy was founded in 1997 when a group of academics and postgraduate students came together at the University of London. A constitution was adopted at this meeting and since then the Academy has grown to over 300 members.
GAM’s mission is to contribute to management teaching and learning by publishing theory, empirical research, reviews, critiques, and resources that address the processes of management teaching and learning. In addition, GAM publishes papers that address important issues in the institutional environment and governance of business schools and their stakeholders. The journal’s emphasis is on the study of management teaching and learning in all types of settings – in schools and universities as well as in businesses and public and non-profit organizations. GAM is published quarterly in March, June, September and December.
The purpose of the Global Academy of Management is to promote the development of research, knowledge and education in the field of organizations and management studies.
To promote the highest quality research, education and practice in business and management.
To mentor early career scholars. To stimulate research and the exchange of ideas within the wider business community.
Contribute to national and international debates on business and management
GAM connects members of the global management and organizational community with each other and with external audiences through an unparalleled portfolio of engagement opportunities that cross technological and geographic boundaries.
GAM encourages its members to positively impact the world by supporting scholarship that matters. We encourage and facilitate dialogue with practitioners that will enhance the social and economic well-being of the world. We nurture the next generation of scholars and help our members educate students to become resourceful and responsible leaders. Overall, we are a leading network of scientists who care about the lasting impact of our work.
We seek to promote and support scholars in business and management and help inform practice and policy for the benefit of society; and to inspire and enable better working practices through responsible scholarship in business and management.
The Global Academy of Management also provides its institutional members with the opportunity to develop and learn individual management practices and skills. The Global Academy of Management oversees the individual management education roles of specific educational institutions and, through standardisation of taught practices, information and continuous innovation, helps educational institutions to improve the delivery of courses, seminars or management training and programmes.
